With the ever-growing technological world, laptops have also advanced in their functions, designs and what they offer. They’ve become one of the most popular pieces of technology in recent years and there are a ton of reasons for that.
Firstly, they offer the ease and portability of being carried around anywhere. You can connect them to the internet, play games, do your work, at any time. Moreover, they also come in different attractive designs, shapes and sizes, which adds a personal touch to them.
There are a ton of companies in the world that make laptops. Some of the most famous ones are HP, Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, etc. Out of these companies, HP is probably the biggest tech giant. Over the years, HP has launched highly innovative laptops and have always been at the forefront of new technology.
One of the many great laptops that HP has produced is the HP Laptop 15t Touch with Intel i7. It has such great performance and design and it has easily become one of the most popular HP laptops ever. Moreover, this particular spec came in my different variations and laptop models.
Therefore, in this article, we’ll be reviewing some of the HP models that come with these particular specifications. And we’ll see why they have so easily dominated the tech market. So read further.
The HP Spectre x360 features the so-called ‘gem cut’ design. Unlike most other laptops who have either square or round edges, this beauty has edges that are cut in a way that the metal is exposed to reflect light and shine. The lid has a satin finish along with an attractive HP logo in the middle, that just adds to the overall aesthetic of the laptop.
The design of this laptop surely makes it stand out from all other laptops, even the ones in the HP lineup itself. The design of this laptop is really eye-catching, so if you’re looking for something low key and less attention-grabbing, then this laptop isn’t the one for you. Because you’re bound to turn some heads when you pull this laptop out, no matter where you are.
The Spectre x360 features a 15.6 inch 4K display, which is amazing but not the most perfect. The display showed vibrant colors, and the visuals were crisp. The screen made the colors pop and every detail was perfectly visible in videos and games alike. The viewing angles of the laptop are also pretty great, as they play an important role especially in a 2-in-1 touch screen model.
Although the display was very bright and clear, it didn’t prove to be as bright as many other laptops when taken outdoors. We also found that the display seemed quite dim under direct sunlight, which was a bit of a letdown.
This laptop is amazing for all your business needs, along with some light gaming. It features the 9th Gen. Intel Core i7 9750H (2.6 GHz, up to 4.5 GHz, 12MB Cache, 6 cores) Processor.
Moreover, to give you amazing graphics, it comes with the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 4 GB. It’s perfect for all your video-editing and graphics related tasks and you can also enjoy some light games on it, during your breaks.
No doubt the battery life of the Spectre is quite amazing. But it’s not HP advertisement level, 17 hours long is amazing. When run on medium settings, the laptop lasted around 8 hours before it shut down. This happened on very basic usage like browsing the web or word processing. If you watch movies or play games, then you should expect a much lower battery time.
- Really attractive gem-cut design
- Excellent, high-performance laptop
- Soft and comfortable keyboard
- Beautiful, clear and crisp 4K display
- Its weight is a little heavy
- Tends to get hot easily when put under too much load
Design & Build
The HP Pavilion is a pretty standard-looking laptop. It features the not-so-rare right-angle triangle grill above the keyboard, much like some other HP models. Two speakers are housed inside these grills which become the main sound output source of the laptop. The overall size of the laptop is rather big. It measures 361.6 x 241.6 x 17.9 mm, along with a full keyboard.
It weighs almost 2 kgs, making it heavier than many other laptops from the similar category. All in all, the design is simple and elegant and the build quality is also durable, thanks to its full metal finish.
The HP Pavilion features a comfortable and easy to type on keyboard. The keys are super soft and they have a gentle under-glow, so you can easily find your way around the keyboard in the dark. The keyboard featured on this model is a full-size keyboard with the numpad as well. \
Although some keys might feel a little wobbly, overall, the keyboard provides a sturdy and durable experience.
The HP Pavilion is not for photo or video editing. The maximum brightness of the screen is quite low and it’s definitely not recommended even for basic Photoshop tasks. With this display you can run light games and use the laptop for day to day tasks like word processing, etc.
- The keyboard feels nice and very comfortable
- The speakers have a really good sound quality
- Well suited for office work like word processing, browsing etc
- Extremely good display
- Not the best display in the laptop industry
- Won’t work at all for graphic designers and editors
The design on this HP Pavilion 15 is the same as the previous one we’ve reviewed. It follows a metal body with a sleek design. The screen is 15.6 inches touchscreen which adds to the overall look of the laptop. It measures 14.24 x 9.51 x 0.70 inches and weighs around 4.23 pounds which is quite a good weight but it isn’t too light.
The speakers are housed on the top, inside the grill-type mesh above the keyboard. The grill is in the shape of triangles, which gives a nice unique touch to the laptop.
Although the HP Pavilion is quite cheap compared to the Spectre family, it does come with the same i7-8550U processor. The built-in graphics card on this laptop is the Intel UHD Graphics 620. This card obviously doesn’t perform much at all when it comes to gaming or high-end graphic designing but it still is pretty usable for daily office work.
All in all, the HP Pavilion gives good enough performance to handle light tasks like browsing, watching movies, word-processing etc.
The keyboard on this laptop is quite comfortable. It has a gentle backlighting which keeps the keyboard illuminated at night, allowing you to use it easily in the dark. Moreover, the keys are quite durable. Some large keys might seem a little wobbly but overall, the keys are really good.
Furthermore, the full size of the keyboard gives you the added comfort of navigating your fingers easily across the big keyboard and have an even better experience.
- Great keyboard, offering a comfortable experience
- Amazing, affordable keyboard for light tasks and office related work
- Sleek and durable design
- Sleek performance
- Doesn’t offer a good value for money
- Not great for heavy duty designing or editing

Here are a few things that you need to keep in consideration when you’re buying a laptop for yourself:
The processor defines how well and powerful your computer is. It will determine the speed of your computer and how easily the programs can run on your machine. If you’re looking for above average performance, then start off above a 9th Gen Core i5 or Core i7.
RAM will help in loading up your programs and your overall computer speed. Therefore, your minimum RAM range for your laptop should be 8 GB.
Storage is another important factor. A great laptop will have 1 TB of HDD space and an additional 500 GB SSD, for fast loading of programs.
This determines your laptop’s graphics. Intel chipsets are usually very low end cards with almost no ability to run big software or games. Therefore, it’s best if you opt for a laptop with an Nvidia or an AMD GPU so you can make the most out of it.
HP laptops are available in a huge variety. There’s always something for everyone. All you need to do is search for your requirements carefully. We hope that the laptops we’ve mentioned above will fit your requirements and this guide will help you in choosing a good laptop for yourself.
